Waffles with pears & chocolate sauce

  • 4 bought round waffles
  • 100g good-quality dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) thickened cream
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 x 400g ctn pear slices in natural juice, drained

    Toast the waffles following packet directions or until golden.

    Meanwhile, place the chocolate, cream and sugar in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth.

    Divide the waffles among serving plates. Top with pear. Drizzle over the chocolate sauce to serve.
