Ingredients
-
2 sheets (25 x 25 cm) frozen puff pastry, thawed
-
1 tablespoon (20g) butter
-
2 teaspoons honey
-
2 (about 85g each) nectarines, halved, stones removed, thinly sliced lengthways
-
1 tablespoon demarara sugar
Method
-
1Preheat oven to 210°C. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
-
2Kids’ task: Use a fluted, round 8cm cutter to cut 6 discs from each sheet of pastry. Place on the lined trays. Use a fluted, round 6.5cm cutter to mark a border inside the edge of each pastry disc (don’t cut all the way through).
-
3Kids’ task (with adult assistance): Place the butter and honey in a small saucepan and stir over low heat until the butter just melts and the mixture is combined (See microwave tip). Remove from the heat. Use a pastry brush to lightly brush the butter mixture over each pastry disc. Arrange the nectarine slices in the centre of the discs.
-
4Kids’ task: Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the pastry and fruit. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until puffed and golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
