Ingredients

500g packet dried fruit salad

1/4 cup caster sugar

1 cinnamon stick

2 whole cloves

3 x 5cm-long strips lemon rind
Method

1Place dried fruit, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, lemon rind and 31/2 cups cold water in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, covered, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until fruit starts to soften.

2Remove lid. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until fruit is just tender. Remove from heat. Cool completely. Serve.
