Crispy barbecued potatoes

  • 1kg chat potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed

    Place potatoes in a saucepan. Cover with cold water. Bring to the boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium. Cook for 12 minutes or until potato is tender. Drain. Return to pan. Add oil and garlic. Toss to coat.

    Heat barbecue hot plate on medium- high heat. Place potatoes on hot plate. Press each potato gently with a potato masher to flatten slightly. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes each side or until lightly browned. Serve.
