Ingredients

1 cup plain flour

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup desiccated coconut

125g butter

1/3 cup golden syrup

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Method

1Preheat the oven to 170C or 150C fan-forced. Grease an 18cm x 28cm slice tin and line with non-stick baking paper, extending over the two long sides.

2Combine flour, oats and coconut in a large bowl making a well in the centre.

3Combine butter, syrup and sugar in a small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until butter melts and mixture is smooth. Add the bicarbonate and stir to combine.

4Pour onto dry ingredients and stir until evenly combined. Spread into prepared tin and smooth surface with the back of a spoon. Bake for 20 mins. Cool in tin.

5Lift out, using the paper and cut into 20 bars. Keep in an airtight container.
