Chewy witches' fingers

  • 2 eggwhites
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • green food colouring
  • 2 tablespoons flaked almonds

    Preheat oven to 150°C/130°C fan-forced. Grease 3 baking trays. Line with baking paper.

    Using an electric mixer, beat eggwhites and sugar on high speed for 8 to 10 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Tint green with food colouring.

    Spoon mixture into a large snap-lock bag. Snip 1cm from corner of bag. Pipe mixture into 10cm lengths, 3cm apart, on prepared trays to form fingers. Place 1 flaked almond on the tip of each finger to form a nail.

    Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until fingers are just firm to touch and almonds golden. Cool on trays. Serve.
