Caramelised banana with toffee sauce

  • 60g butter
  • 4 bananas, peeled, halved lengthways
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons thickened cream

    Melt butter in a large, non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add banana. Cook, turning occasionally, for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer to a plate. Cover with foil.

    Add sugar to pan. Cook, stirring, for 2 to 3 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Add cream. Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes or until combined. Place bananas on serving plates. Top with 1 tablespoon sauce. Serve with remaining sauce.
